I feel oh, so glamorous Lookin' super fabulous Sometimes I'm insecure Something I can't ignore All the flashy cameras Try my best to handle it I'm just the girl next door I can hear the rumors take off...
Haley had been for couple weeks in her vacation hideway of Palm Beach,Florida. It wasnt big deal, she just needed to get away from her life in Los Angeles and school. And nothing could be better than little trip to Palm Beach for little mixing with the old money crowd.Did she really like them? Not really but her parents did,so she couldnt do nothing about it but smile and be pleasant with them. But Palm Beach provided a sort of privacy and comfort, she didnt feel that she had in Los Angeles because of the constant harrazing of the papparazi.Even though she enjoyed her spotlight, she wanted to be Haley for once. The light blue Rolls Royce Phantom pulled up to the gates of the Bel Air Estate where the Atkinson's resided. The gates were decorated with golden Atkinson crest. They opened up and Rolls Royce pulled right in to the cover entry way. The driver got out and opened the door for Haley, she exited and smiled at him. It was so good to be back in familiar surroundings.Haley opened the glass metallic doors and entered the main entry way. She looked up to the stairway, she didnt feel like taking stairs to her room nor even taken the elevator, she needed fresh hair. Haley went to the patio and pulled up chair. Her patio overlooked a golf-course and pool that her Father had order to be built, when he acquired the house. Haley rarely even play golf, the most she played was croquette or tennis at one of the clay or grass court. Really golf wasnt that appealing to her,she didnt understand what was thrill guys found in playing golf. It was boring game, hit the ball and make it in a hole. She smiled as her maid brought her cup tea and some pastries.

Sadie looked at the door of Haley's house, large and forbodding, but this was what she called home nowadays so Sadie would just have to get used to it. She knew for a fact that she'd be calling it home soon to, so she might as well deal. She knocked on the door, and then put her cell phone into the pocket of her shorts. The door opened quickly to reveal a small latin woman, probably the maid."Ah, gracias a dios," she said in rapid fire Spanish "estas aqui!"
Sadie frowned slightly at the maid's enthusiastic response, following the woman into the room she focused hard to try and make out what she was saying - her accent was a bit different from what Sadie was used to hearing. Haley was having a guest come over for a sleepover and they needed to finish cleaning up. There was something about her being expected an hour ago and a complaint that she was out of uniform. That single phrase caused the writer's eyes to widen. "I'm not supposed to be working." She explained quickly in English, her mind not even thinking quick enough to make the switch to Spanish. She was still astonished that she was taken as the help, yes she was latina but talk about type casting.
"Soy la amiga de Haley," Sadie said. The maid nodded, muttering something about how they all wished they were a pop star's friend. "No, really. La verdad." Sadie panicked. She did not, under any circumstances want to be put to work at her best friend's house. "Like, really. You need to believe me." This was just ridiculous, this sort of thing only happened in movies. The small latin woman ignored her frantic pleas and grabbed her wrist pulling her to the kitchen, instructing her to make drinks.
"I am not the help. Ask Haley." Sadie looked frantically out the door as she passed, noticing Haley and shouting out as loudly as possible. "HALEY! HELP!" The maid turned around and gave Sadie a angered look as she continued to drag her to the kitchen, letting out in a heavily accented voice "I sorry, Miss. She is crazy. We'll be out of your hair," and continued on her way, quicker now. Sadie could not believe this was happening.

It was just beautiful afternoon to be relaxing by the pool and just watching the sea,not playing golf. But apparently her Father always found an excuse to be driving around in a golf cart and playing golf in the backyard. Haley just wished sometimes,he had movie or something to film so she didnt have to hear him scream Fore or hole in one,it just got annoying. The only time, she really joined him was when they were playing tennis because she got to wear cute skimpy outfits or croquet, outside of that she prefer to just lounge by the pool.
And really she couldnt complain about the golf course because her Father had built it before she was born.Even though he had revamped and made it more challenging when she was in middle school. As much her Father tried,Haley was never going pick golf club unless it was to hit somebody upside the head with it. But, she wasnt since nobody could really bother her in the privacy of her estate.
Haley sipped her tea in the patio when she heard a commotion inside of her house. She put her tea cup down and stood up,she walked inside.Haley laughed as she saw the scene that was unfolding.Haley smiled at her main maid, "Espera uno momento."She paused,"Sadie is a friend of mine, she is here for sleepover, she is no help, comprende."Haley smiled as she walked up to Sadie and just gave her big hug and whispered,"Sorry."

Of course Haley would find this amusing. Sadie was being harassed, verbally abused in Spanish and even dragged around the house to do physical labor where she was supposed to be a guest and all that Haley could do was laugh! She gave Haley a faked angry look, her eyes still smiling with an inner laughter at the absurdity of the moment. Really, this was the sort of things that were needed for those really girly movies, not for real life. This was never supposed to happen - to any person no matter what they looked like.
Granted, Sadie couldn't help but laugh hysterically at Haley's attempt at Spanish. She knew that the girl didn't know too much of it - Sadie had attempted to teach her Spanish once before but she seemed to be more inclined towards things like French - but she never expected it to be to such a magnitude. Of course, the maid understood Haley and let go of Sadie's wrist, the writer took the wrist in her hand and rubbed it, muttering quietly to the woman, "Gracias," there was nothing else to say after being dragged around.
She hugged Haley and smiled, giggling, "Is this how you greet all of your guests? Manual labor?" She shook her head at the apology, her hair letting off the gentle scent of her strawberry shampoo, "No, dont apologize.. it's a natural reaction.... I think." She slipped an arm around her friend's waist and headed towards the door to the patio, still giggling slightly at the absurdity of that moment - the panic that had raced through her veins, the anger that made her blood boil, it all seemeed so ridiculous now. "Now, tell me. Where did you learn that horrible Spanish? And even worst, that English... were you mimicking my mom or something with that?" she shook her head, a smile dancing across her lips. This seemed to be just like old times.

It was always fun to see her friend being harassed,it gave Haley her daily laugh. But today was even better than the normal daily laugh, she got kicked out of seeing Sadie being typecast as maid just because she was Hispanic.. She though it was funny for her at least, probably Sadie did not find it as funny. But oh well, things past as the night went along, the incident would be forgotten. Haley had a plan for tonight and hopefully Sadie would agree to it.
Haley just took seat in at the table in her patio overlooking the pool and the golf course and just smiled at Sadie. It had been too long since they both had hung out, to be truthful the girl missed it. She missed having somebody she could talk to and could consider a sister, somebody that she was closed to.Sure, she had her Fab 5 but that was not good enough as Sadie who she had known while she was still wild teenage girl living in Manhattan. Haley took sip of her cold tea and just smiled at Sadie.
"First of all, lets start with my spanish I picked up while doing a movie, but really my spanish is not too good. And my english,I was just trying to imitate Rosie,my main maid"She paused,"But I must say that blue and white uniform sure does look good on you,are you that you aren't the maid that they were expecting?"Haley laughed as she took sip of her tea and just relaxed. She looked at her friend, "Being wanting to propose something, since I know you are living in LA full time, now I was wondering if you wanted to move in with me here in Bel Air.You know,so you dont got pay rent or whatever at the place you staying."She smiled as she looked around then looked at Sadie again.

Sadie chuckled quietly at her explanations, "Well, I hope you didn't pay those people too much for your Spanish lessons... I think they failed - but only a bit." She stuck out her tongue as she sat down on one of the lounging chairs next to the pool and stretching out with a contented sigh. This was the sort of life the Haley could get used to - most definately. It was soothing just being by the poolside, not really having to worry about getting sick from some random child's 'accident' in the pool. But privacy came at a price, and the price tag that Haley's daddy paid had to be really big.
With a gasp she sat up and grabbed a nearby towel off of the side table that sat next to her, throwing the plush pink slab of fabric at Haley's face. "I do not look good in those outfits! Take that back!" she said, playfully upset. With a quiet mutter she continued, "Besides, if anyone looks good in those outfits it would be a beautiful blonde - not the smoldering latina temptress." She smiled and winked at Haley before she lounged in the chair once more.
Sitting up, Sadie couldn't help but stare at Haley in surprise. "Move in.. here?" She repeated, in slight disbelief. Life in a place like this would be amazing. But life in a place like this with HALEY would be a dream come true. "I would absolutely love that!" she couldn't help but notice as her voice went up a few octaves with her excitement. With a self-conscience blush she looked down at her hands and then looked back up at Haley, her heart still beating excitedly but her mind slowing down to a more understandable speed. "So, what are your plans for tonight?" she said, her eyes lighting up a bit more devilishly. Maybe a night on the town or else a girl's night in with movies and ice cream, either one would be fun. She had been so excited for this sleepover for the longest time but now it seemed like it would just be one really long sleepover. Time to have her best friend back.

There was something stunning about being young, beautiful with money. The world seemed at your feet, it would bend over at your will. Nothing was out of the reach as long she had her American Express black card or check book, anything she wanted she could get. No was not part of the vocabulary, when you came from a family like Haley came from. Her family was old money socialites and one of the first families to move to Newport and the Hamptons. Haley knew she did not have to do much but just mention her last name and doors would open, something would not be available to somebody else,it would be all the sudden available to her. And that was something nice and comfort to know, that there were no limitations to her world besides whatever restrictions her parents put on her. But those restrictions were few and far in between, her parents were too busy with their careers to pay attention their daughter. So she did whatever she please, whenever she please, disregarding any potential consequences that her actions might bring. Haley smiled at her, "At least I can order around my house staff with my broken spanish."
Usually, she had a private airplane ready to go to take her whatever place that she wanted to go to. Haley had just to pick and inform her pilots of her flight plan with couple hours before departure, so they could clear their flight plan with the airport. But she usually did not call them a couple hours before more like a couple minutes before she left while in route to the airport.Usually her plane trips were of the spur of the moment because she had the urge to be somewhere besides school. Yeah, the girl was unpredictable, but what did you expect with a rich girl like Haley Atkinson? She never could really make her mind up on anything from boys to her clothing. Being indecisive was a trait, that she had and she knew it and really did not care. It made her life more fun and spontaneous.
Haley smiled at her friend as she looked around her house,it was truly princess palace. She giggle at her, "Of course move here, where you think you would move?Oh yeah,I forgot you are part of the house staff,so you got move to the house staff bungalow." Haley smiled as she took sip of her tea and just looked at her friend. She had an idea for tonight,it was be fun to say the least,or at least she hope it would be."It's going be girly-girl night."Haley stood up and just gave her best friend and evil grin, she pushed Sadie into the pool and giggle, "Welcome to Cali, nice baby blue bra and pink panties."She smiled as she looked at her friend in the pool.

Sadie rolled her eyes at Haley's next joke. Now she was supposed to be on Haley's working staff? Well, Sadie was paid enough to pay rent if need be, but she knew for a fact that Haley was merely joking.. at least she hoped she was. "You know," she said with a smile, "I'm pretty sure petite little blondes look best in those outfits." She giggled and remarked, "Someone's on a role with those zingers, is there something in your tea that's helping you today, Haley?"
She stood up slowly, tugging at her shorts slightly as she headed over to Haley, playfully sticking her finger into her friend's tea and tasting the tea. "Yup, tastes normal.. no drugs here." Poking Haley softly she stared at her, concerned, "Then what has made you changed?" With a smile, she nodded, "I like girly nights. Pedi-manis it is then."
Caught off guard, she couldn't help but scream as she felt herself falling, the ground disappearing from underneath her as her body splashed into the pool. Sadie swam up to the surface, gasping for breath and coughing out water, as she pushed her hair out of her face. She knew that she probably resembled a wet dog, and was grateful that she and Haley had always worn approximately the same sized clothing. "Thanks a lot, Haley," she said with a smile, shaking her head and pushing some water out of the pool at Haley. "I love you too, chica."
